Vineyard From Coal Pit's original vineyard plantings in Gibbston (Central Otago's coolest subregion), vines dating to 1994 on schist-based soils, very low-cropped at 3 tonnes/hectare and hand-harvested. 100% whole-bunch pressed and 100% barrel-fermented in large-format French oak (48% new), with extended lees contact (battonage) for 10 months.

Wine A complex, barrel-fermented style with tropical mango, peach, and nectarine underlying green herb, lime, spice, and flinty complexity — full-bodied, succulent, and concentrated, with a long, tangy finish.
