Grillo is one of the many rare grape varieties native to Sicily and also the Italian word for cricket, a lucky creature in Italian custom. These white wines are expressive, almost chirruping with lively fruit and floral characters, with a bouncy acidity. Donnafugata Sur Sur takes this reference in earnest, depicting a walk through the cricket-filled fields, it's fresh and informal with a youthful spirit. Brilliant straw yellow, on the nose, it offers a fresh bouquet of peach and cantaloupe melon, combined with scents of wildflowers and mint.
