Vineyard From Hawkshead, founded in 2001 by Gibbston Pinot pioneer Denis Marshall and partner Ulrike Kurenbach. Whole-bunch pressed, partially barrel fermented (~20%), and aged three months on fine lees in old oak before release — a drier, more textural style styled after Alsace/German Grauburgunder rather than a fruity New World Pinot Gris.
Wine Perfumed citrus peel, quince, and pink peppercorn open onto a concentrated, elegant palate of spiced fruit, cinnamon brioche, and sun-dried pear. Subtly honeyed yet finishes dry, with cool, stony phenolics giving structure.
