La Battistina Gavi 2023
- Region: Piedmont
- Sub-Region: Gavi
- Varieties: Cortese
Vineyard From Araldica's La Battistina estate, a 26-hectare south-facing site around the town of Gavi, including 5 hectares within the Gavi del Comune di Gavi zone considered among the best terroir in the appellation. Vines average around 35 years old on chalky, mineral-rich soil, trained low Guyot in the Piemonte style. Grapes are hand-harvested, pneumatically pressed, and fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel, resting on lees for several months before bottling.
Wine An aromatic, zesty nose of apple, lime, and white flower, with a hint of minerality. The palate is juicy and textured, with weighty fruit, mouthwatering citric acidity, and a long, refreshing finish — widely regarded as a benchmark expression of the Gavi DOCG.
