Mount Brown Pinot Gris 2024
- Region: North Canterbury
- Sub-Region: Waipara Valley
- Varieties: Pinot Gris
Vineyard From Mount Brown Estates, founded in 2003 when Tony Rutherford and his daughter Catherine discovered an abandoned, weed-choked vineyard in the Waipara foothills. The Pinot Gris comes from the flat, stony Limeloader block, fermented in stainless steel with fermentation stopped early to retain a touch of residual sugar (7g), then rested on lees for texture.
Wine Wonderfully ripe and fragrant, with ripe apricot, rockmelon, spiced pear, and rich floral aromas. Excellent weight and silky texture on the palate, framed by juicy acidity, finishing delicious and lingering.
Food Pairings
- Roast pork
- Spiced Asian dishes
- Soft cheeses
