Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2025
- Region: Marlborough
- Sub-Region: Lower Wairau Valley
- Varieties: Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyard Saint Clair's flagship and most decorated wine, made by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, pioneers of Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc revolution. Grown in the lower Wairau Valley near the coast, where nutrient-rich, non-erosive flood soils and cooler night temperatures (compared to the central and upper valley) extend hang time and build flavour. Identified by the winemaking team through blind tastings as the single best parcel of the vintage. Pressed immediately off skins, cool-fermented in stainless steel with a selected yeast strain.
Wine Pure and refreshing, with intense passionfruit and crushed herb. The palate is generous and rich, with a salty mineral note leading to a lingering, weighty finish — widely regarded as one of New Zealand's most consistently top-scoring Sauvignon Blancs.
